Waste not why nots

I frequently hear tales of war from my mother and grandmother. They talked about not having enough rice to eat that they have to cook porridge with sweet potato added to fill the hunger.

I remember these stories and always remind my children never to throw their food with whatever reasons I can think of, like it is bad for their karma. Here is another "why not" reason to look at.

Lullaby for Calvin

This is a lullaby I created for Calvin. I was reminded of it when my husband talked about it to him but couldn't recall the verses. Here they are lest they be completely forgotten.

Sleepy eye, Calvin Ho
Looking tired but don't want to sleep
Looking here, looking there
Looking tired but don't want to sleep

Mummy pet, Mummy pet,
Mummy pet little Calvin to sleep
Mummy wish Calvin has sweet dreams
Close your eyes go to sleep, Calvin Ho

Calvin always laughed with joy when I end it with, "Pet, pet, pet", as I pet him at his bottom. Mummy was not too keen to let him fall asleep any sooner then.
