Lukla Airport in Nepal

welcome to lukla, hillary-tenzing airport at 9100 feet above sea level and most probably the world's most dangerous airport. a downhill sloping runway and the surrounding high mountains do make things very interesting here and accidents and incidents are frequent.

a successful go-around on short finals is out of the question due to the surrounding terrain and mountains. not for the faint hearted.

this is a nice shot of inflight refueling of a brazilian airforce jet fighter. these are pretty thirsty fellows and need to drink a lot to remain in action.
